Coaching philosophy
We know how to get the absolute best out of you. Whatever type of cyclist or triathlete you are – from leisure to competitive – we provide a coached training plan that supports you in achieving your goals. We’ve trained a huge range of clients for racing teams, triathlons, sportives and charity events, track riding, leading club rides, fitness and skills. Each client is different and no plan is the same.
Motivation to enjoy training and feel the benefits is core to our coaching so we work with your lifestyle to make sure performance benchmarks are achievable. We pride ourselves on our friendly and responsive approach; from consultations and check-ins to plan adaptations and support.

Get fit and enter a bike race
Paul has always set my training at the right level for my ability starting at beginner level and I have never felt foolish for asking very basic questions. I haven’t been pushed to do anything I have not been capable of or not wanted to do. My training plans are built round a busy home/work life, which changes constantly - all I have to do is follow what has been put in the diary for the next day.

Goal:
Cross the Sahara Desert in world record time
I was training for my record-breaking expedition and suffering from loads of pain and progress was slow. My physiotherapist recommended me to Paul Mill. When I walked into elitecycling I had no idea that Paul would become my coach to smash the world record. Crossing the Sahara and being able to mentally average 100 miles a day was both a psychological and physical challenge. Paul’s training targeted both elements. Importantly, my training plan was designed to fit my busy day-to-day life. He also advised me on cycling equipment, bike fitting and nutrition. His passion, energy, knowledge and experience were vital to my training.

Goal:
Participate in Phuket Ironman
I went to Phuket to train for an Ironman. The hills were brutal and I came home scared. I was referred to Paul Mill and in three weeks he got me ready, mentally and physically. I completed my first Ironman and conquered the hills! Paul’s advice was invaluable both off and on the bike – including planning nutrition before and after the race. I done lots of Grand Fondo races since, hopefully all with a smile on my face at the finish!

Focus
I approached Paul to start some training 4 years ago. I’m still with elitecycling and training to become a coach myself. Paul, Glen and the team have always believed in me, especially when the nerves set in and my confidence takes a dip. I’ve got stronger both mentally and physically through a coaching relationship that works with me; I’ve learned how to ride the track as well as race in crits, sportives and the odd time trial. A friend once said, Paul is the best alarm clock on wet winter mornings – his voice gets you out!

How it Works
All coaching packages are structured using Training Peaks software which provides an online platform for a training plan, performance data analysis and benchmarks that are responsive to your goals and lifestyle. Following the initial consultation and lifestyle audit, feedback is built into each package to set targets and support your progression. You also have access to our library of turbo workouts on Trainer Road and cycling routes via Garmin or Strava to make your training more intuitive. All coached clients are encouraged to join the elitecycling training rides at weekends.

Club Coaching
We provide bespoke coaching for groups on request. Cycling clubs we currently work with include: Penge, Dulwich Paragon, Islington, Lee Valley & 4T Velo.
- Track sessions at Herne Hill Velodrome (including derny-pacing)
- Crit training at Lee Valley Velopark, Gravesend Cyclopark, Hog Hill road circuit
- Road riding skills and bike handling

Group Coaching
Providing bespoke coaching and training camps for race teams, including working with other coaches, to build team performance. We’ve worked with Aprire-HSS Hire, Team Catford, Team Wiggins, 4T Velo as well as our own elitecycling racers.
We offer training and nutrition plans, block coaching and fitness sessions as well as advice on pre-race preparation.
